Mr. Gerald “Jerry” McAteer is the President and COO of Savior Associates. Highly motivated to achieve the best possible results for his clients, Mr. McAteer is known for his experience in emergency management, disaster response, and public safety planning. He brings twenty years of military experience with sixteen years in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal arena. Mr. McAteer maintains a Top Secret Special Compartmentalized Security Information (TS/SCI) clearance and is retired United States Army Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician.
Mr. McAteer previously served in the Federal Government as the Director of Emergency Management for the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Enterprise Assessments and was also the Emergency Management and Continuity Program Manager for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Mr. McAteer also served as Principal of an emergency management and technology firm that worked with federal, state, and local governments on comprehensive disaster management and information technology projects. Mr. McAteer also spent 7 years at the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) were he served in variety of leadership positions. These positions allowed him to manage complex problems associated with emergency management, information technology, government relations, conflict resolution, continuity of government planning, and homeland security challenges.
Mr. McAteer is an Internationally Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)® and is a National Continuity Professional Planner. Mr. McAteer is active member of the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) assisting in the strategic direction of the international emergency management community and within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He serves as the Annville Township Emergency Management Coordinator and is a Volunteer Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician, and CPR Instructor.
Mr. McAteer holds a Master of Arts in Emergency and Disaster Management from American Public University, and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and graduate certificate in homeland security from Excelsior College. He is also a graduate of FEMA’s Emergency Management Executive Academy, Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Executive Leadership, Crisis in Leadership program, Office Personnel Management’s Federal Executive Institute, and the Department of Energy’s Nuclear Executive Leadership Program.
